Smile Education’s Leadership division are currently seeking an experienced, Executive Headteacher for a Leicestershire based SEN school (LE7 9SJ). The role is offered on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday to start from April 2020 or sooner as a permanent post. If you have experience as an Executive Headteacher in either the secondary or SEN education sector and are available to travel to the Leicestershire area, we would like to hear from you. We are currently supporting the Director in securing an experienced member of staff to oversee a well-established SEN school, currently with around 25 pupils on role with the capacity for this to increase to 40 plus a brand-new school due to open from Easter 2020 initially with around 15 pupils on role. These settings cater in particular to pupils with Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs. They also deal with ASD issues on a daily basis.
You will work alongside the current Headteacher to provide logistical support and be heavily involved with the new school opening. The Director is open to receiving applications from either a secondary experienced Executive Headteacher or an SEN experienced Executive Headteacher who would like to transition into the sector and has some experience of working alongside SEN pupils in a mainstream setting. Ideally you will have a proven track record in school improvement and substantial experience with OFSTED.
To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
• Hold a relevant senior leadership qualification
• Ideally have knowledge of Leicestershire LA procedures
• Exceptionally dedicated to supporting pupils with SEN
• Secondary or SEN school experience in a similar role
