Smile Education are currently recruiting for a school-experienced Finance Administrator for schools in manchester.

The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the school’s finance function, carrying out day-to-day financial administration in line with school policies and procedures. This includes processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, updating finance systems, and dealing with finance-related queries from staff and external suppliers. Applicants must have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, and previous experience working within a school finance or finance administration role. Experience using school finance systems such as SIMS Finance, FMS, PS Financials, IRIS, BROMCOM or similar is highly desirable.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day financial operations of the school
• Process invoices, purchase orders and staff expense claims
• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
• Update and manage data on the school finance system
• Reconcile accounts and assist with budget monitoring
• Prepare financial reports and present data to senior leaders when required
• Liaise with suppliers and respond to finance-related queries
• Provide administrative and financial support as required
• Ensure all financial procedures comply with school and trust policies
• Be highly organised with excellent attention to detail
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Be highly motivated, professional and forward-thinking
• Have proficient computer skills, including Excel and finance software

What to expect from applicants We would like applicants to have prior experience working in a finance or finance administration role, ideally within a school or education setting. Experience using school finance systems is essential.
