Smile Education is seeking a dependable and experienced School Caretaker to work within a school setting.
Applicants must have prior experience in a school environment and be confident carrying out general site maintenance and basic building repairs.
Role Responsibilities:
- Maintain the school site, buildings, and outdoor areas
- Open and secure the premises each day, ensuring site safety throughout
- Carry out minor repairs and organise contractors for larger maintenance work
- Oversee and support cleaning staff
- Complete general porterage and site support duties
- Act as a key holder for the school
- Monitor, inspect, and record cleaning and maintenance activity
- Work closely with the School Business Manager to identify and prioritise repairs
- Carry out non-specialist maintenance tasks such as basic plumbing and decorating
- Maintain accurate records and documentation
- Supervise, support, and train site staff
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a school setting
- Practical maintenance experience
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS clearance
- Professional references
