Unqualified Teacher
Do you enjoy leading learning, explaining ideas and working with young people? Are you confident communicating and managing a classroom environment, even though you don’t yet hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)?
Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of
a secondary school in Salford for
Unqualified Teachers to support teaching and learning across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills, and who are exploring teaching as a long-term career pathway.
Qualified Teacher Status is not required for this role. Training, support and mentoring will be provided for successful candidates.
If you already have experience—whether in tutoring, classroom cover, youth leadership, coaching, or subject support—you are encouraged to apply, as this can support a smoother transition into classroom teaching.
These roles may lead to
long-term placements and future training opportunities for the right candidates.
What the Role Involves Unqualified Teachers may be responsible for:
• Delivering and leading pre-prepared lessons across subjects
• Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring a positive learning atmosphere
• Communicating instructions clearly and confidently
• Supporting students in understanding work and completing tasks
• Following school procedures and behaviour systems
• Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and engagement
• Accessing training and developing subject/classroom skills
This is a highly visible role in the classroom and ideal for candidates who enjoy leading learning rather than supporting from the side.
