Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of
Shireland Biomedical Academy for enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join their school community in support roles within the classroom. This opportunity is ideal for applicants who are curious about education as a future career or who simply want to make a positive difference to young people.
No previous school experience is required. Full training is provided. However,
if you do have experience supporting young people—in schools, youth work, coaching, mentoring or similar—
you are strongly encouraged to apply, as this can support accelerated progression and development.
These roles may also lead to
long-term opportunities and placements for the right candidates.

What the Role Involves Depending on your strengths and interests, you may support in:
• Classroom-based support alongside teaching staff
• Small group or 1:1 academic support
• Encouraging pupil engagement and confidence
• Assisting in removing barriers to learning
• Contributing to a positive and respectful learning environment
• Accessing training and learning how the curriculum operates in practice
This role offers a strong foundation for those considering future pathways such as teaching, SEN support or pastoral roles.
Who We’re Looking For Applications are encouraged from a wide range of backgrounds — especially those who have
never worked in a school before. Skills gained from customer service, hospitality, youth work, childcare, coaching, retail or community roles can all transfer well.
Ideal applicants will demonstrate:
• A genuine interest in supporting young people
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Reliability, enthusiasm and a positive approach to challenges
• A willingness to learn and accept feedback
• The ability to build respectful relationships

Relevant degrees or qualifications are welcome but
