Sports Coach: 
Location: Redditch 
Pay: £100 - £130 per day
Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in Redditch to recruit a confident and motivated Sports Coach / Cover Supervisor. This exciting opportunity is ideal for individuals with a background in sports coaching, physical education, or youth work who are passionate about supporting young people in a secondary school setting.
In this varied and rewarding role, you will work across the school day supervising lessons, supporting PE activities, and promoting positive behaviour and engagement. This position is perfect for aspiring teachers, coaches, or graduates seeking valuable classroom-based experience.

Role Responsibilities

• Supervise classes during teacher absence using pre-planned lesson materials
• Deliver cover work across a range of subjects
• Support PE lessons, sports activities, and enrichment sessions where required
• Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies
• Build strong, professional relationships with students and staff
• Maintain a calm, confident, and professional presence throughout the school day
• Support the wider school team as required

You’ll Need Experience in

• sports coaching, PE, education, or youth work
• Confidence working with secondary-aged students (11–16)
• Strong communication and behaviour management skills
• A reliable, adaptable, and professional attitude
• A genuine interest in supporting young people’s wellbeing and development
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
• Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or within a school setting is desirable but not essential, as training and support will be provided.
