Smile Education is proud to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Staffordshire to recruit a PE Teacher / General Cover Supervisor. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a school known for its positive ethos, supportive leadership, and commitment to both staff and student wellbeing.
Responsibilities of the PE Teacher / General Cover Role:
• Deliver engaging and inclusive Physical Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience is advantageous)
• Plan, deliver and assess lessons in line with the national curriculum
• Promote teamwork, resilience and a positive attitude towards physical activity and healthy lifestyles
• Provide general classroom cover across a range of subjects when required
• Maintain high standards of classroom behaviour and ensure a safe and supportive learning environment
• Uphold all safeguarding and school policies consistently
This PE Teacher / General Cover position is perfect for someone who is passionate about inspiring young people—both in sport and in the wider classroom environment.
To apply for this PE Teacher / General Cover role, you will need:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent experience in a secondary school setting
• Experience teaching PE at KS3 and KS4
• The ability to adapt and deliver lessons across a variety of subjects when providing cover
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to teaching and learning
• A genuine passion for promoting physical education and student wellbeing
