Cover Supervisor/Teaching Assistant
Smile Education is working in partnership with a welcoming secondary school in the Solihull area to recruit a passionate and reliable Cover Supervisor/Teaching Assistant to join their team starting in Sept 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to make a meaningful impact on students’ learning in a supportive and well-structured school environment.
About the Role:
As a Cover Supervisor/Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for supervising students during teacher absences, delivering pre-planned lessons, and maintaining a calm and productive classroom environment. You may also work on a 1:1 or small group basis, supporting students with their academic and personal development across a range of subjects.
This is a varied and rewarding role ideal for those considering a future in teaching or education more broadly.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom behaviour effectively
  • Support students with learning activities during lessons and interventions
  • Ensure a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support staff to assist student progress
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting
  • Strong communication and classroom management skills
  • A proactive, flexible, and supportive attitude
  • A genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed
  • A degree or relevant qualification is advantageous but not essential
