Cover Teacher – Primary & Secondary (Various Schools Across Birmingham) Location: Birmingham
Pay: £120 – £170 per day (dependent on experience)
Contract: Flexible – Day-to-day, short-term and long-term opportunities (Monday–Friday)

The role is ideal for qualified teachers looking for flexible work or experienced instructors seeking consistent placements across multiple schools.

The Role

• Deliver pre-set lessons across a range of subjects and year groups.
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
• Ensure a safe, positive and productive learning environment.
• Adapt quickly to different school settings and classroom dynamics.
• Provide clear instructions and maintain lesson structure.
• Support pupils of varying abilities, including those with additional needs.
• Provide feedback to the regular class teacher and school leadership.
• Uphold safeguarding, wellbeing and professional standards at all times.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – preferred.
• Experience teaching in UK primary or secondary schools (minimum 3 months).
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Confident delivering lessons across different year groups.
• Flexible, adaptable and professional approach.
• Able to provide a minimum of two references covering the past two years (one must comment on your work with children).
• Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one through Smile Education.
