Smile Education is looking for confident, adaptable Cover Supervisors to join our team in secondary schools across Telford and the surrounding areas.
This is a great chance for anyone who enjoys working with young people and wants to build valuable experience in secondary education. Whether you’re an established Cover Supervisor, a Teaching Assistant, an aspiring teacher, or simply have a background working with children and young people, we’d like to hear from you.
About the Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you’ll step in when teachers are absent, supervising classes and delivering pre-set lessons. You’ll create a positive learning atmosphere and keep students focused, engaged and on task.
We offer plenty of flexibility. Whether you want full-time work, a few days a week or the occasional day of cover, we’ll work around your availability and match you with roles that fit your circumstances.
Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes and deliver lessons planned by the teacher
• Create a calm, positive and productive classroom environment
• Manage behaviour effectively while holding high expectations
• Support students with their work and keep them focused
• Follow each school’s policies and procedures
• Adapt with confidence to new schools, subjects and year groups

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience working with children or young people
• Confidence in managing a classroom and setting clear expectations
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
• Comfort working across different subjects and year groups
• A dependable, flexible and adaptable attitude
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with their education
