BSL Teaching Assistant

Smile Education is a leading recruitment service for schools in Staffordshire. Our partner school in Stoke is currently looking for a British Sign Language Teaching Assistant to start in February 2020. 

About the role:
  • Supporting two children with hearing impairments in a Special Education Needs School
  • Ideally, a full-time role but can look at a part-time arrangement for the right person 
  • To commence February 2020
  • Work within a strong team who share ideas and work collaboratively
About the school:
  • Based in Stoke - easily accessible via the M6 and all Stoke routes
  • Provides support and professional development to all staff members
  • A steam ethos and involvement with parents to build a strong community
  • Well equipped to cater to the needs of students with a wide range of additional needs
About you:
  • Have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build a quick rapport with students
  • Level 3 British Sign Language qualification
  • Have experience working with children or young people with additional needs such as Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties, and Hearing Impairments
  • Able to obtain suitable references and a DBS check
